Lens flare : for decades engineers worked on lenses to get rid of chromatic aberration and other distortions to avoid lens flare. Now you come along with a lens flare filter??
Film glow: for decades we work on to give you bigger and bigger dynamic range, so that you don't have to chose between over-exposure and loss of details in black. We work for decades to improve resolution, sharpness and clear edges between the dark-to-light transition within the image. Now you come along and over expose that beautiful morning shot of the jetty and blur it. Looks like a YouTube video. Go-pro camera? Yupp! That's the image people are accustomed to, you desire, isn't it? Should rather be called the 'go-pro-filter'.
People who want this 'film-glow' don't deserve any pro-gear. A lot cheaper approach would be a VHS camera with a Vidicon tube.
Beat reactor: may be if you make music videos. OK. But then you don't want an external audio source. Hopefully one of the underlying channel is also selectable.
The stain-window was the possible worst choice to demonstrate the effect. Their beauty is the importance of the shot and this is what the filter completely destroys. Tasteless choice. Especially of this IS the Notre Dam.
The Sun behind the blue yacht … casting a shadow on the white boat on it's starboard … great understanding of moviemaking ...
Enormous amount of gimmicks replacing good story telling.
You don't have a story? Your audience is yawning?
BORIS EFiX IT!
There may be some VERY limited use of these filters. Like overall tone-control of the movie, overexposing the image for a dream sequence etc. But NOTHING replaces a properly directed and filmed, good storyline.
