Using Graffiti in Avid hosts
This tutorial focuses on using Boris Graffiti to generate animated titles within the Avid Editing environment and assumes that the Graffiti application has already been installed into your system.
- Launch your Avid host
- Cut a background clip over which we will place the title into the Avid timeline
- In the Avid Effects Control Window, locate and select the Graffiti plug-in effect - if you look in the right pane of the Effects Window, you can see that Graffiti offers 4 separate filters, each with a number. This number refers to the layers of video that can be read by Graffiti when applied to a timeline. in this example we are only interested in applying the title over Video 1 so we'll select Boris Graffiti 1 Input.

- Drag the Boris Graffiti 1 Input effect onto the background video. When you perform this action, a plug-in effect icon will be displayed over the clip in the timeline to which the filter was applied

- Click on the Avid Effects Mode button to access the filter parameters

- A new window will appear containing the Graffiti filter effect

- Observe that there is now a single instance of Boris Graffiti 1 Input in the Effects Control Window.
- There is a small button to the left of the name - click on this button once to launch the Boris Graffiti user interface.
