Chroma Key Studio is one of the 28 new filters in BCC 6 FxPlug for Final Cut, Motion and Final Cut Express and now a fresh addition to BCC Chroma Key Unit. It builds on the strength of previous BCC keying and compositing tools with features such as best-of-breed chromakey process, spill suppression, matte choker and a light wrap compositing step.
Using the BCC FxPlug Lens Flare in Apple Final Cut Pro
In this tutorial we will use the bcc lens flare filter to generate a point light source and a lens flare effect that we will track automatically to the camera motion in the clip to which the filter is being applied.
Generate a Volumetric Light Effect on Animated Text
Use BCC Rays Cartoon in Apple Final Cut Pro to generate a volumetric lighting effect on an animated text element.
Make it Snow with Continuum Complete in Apple Final Cut Pro
What good is a snow effect if snow does not stick to horizontal surfaces in the shot? The BCC Snow filter can do that and provide many other mesmerizing looks for your winterly scenes. BCC Snow is part of just about every Boris product. Whether you are using Continuum Complete or Graffiti or RED or FX, BCC Snow is available in the Generator section of the package. It works especially well with the text captions where snow accumulates on top of the letters creating a natural outdoor look.
How to Make Video Look Like Film Using BCC 5 FxPlug Filters
Here are four basic processes, using a combination of filters from the BCC 5 FxPlug package, that when applied to video source clips can generate the illusion that these clips originated on film and not tape.
Working with the Prism Filter in Final Cut Pro
Save money on pre-made video backgrounds! Quickly design and animate your own unique video backgrounds by combining BCC 5 FxPlug's new Prism filter with your favorite Apple Final Cut Pro Generator..
Working with the LED Filter in Final Cut Pro
In this exercise, we'll use Apple Final Cut Pro to generate an HD format show opener for a news program, such as we might see on the Larry King show, that incorporates a world map in the background, which has been treated with the BCC LED filter to appear as though it was made out of LED (light emitting diode) bulbs.
Working with the LED Filter in Final Cut Pro Part 2
To continue the effect, we'll take the same map image and add a particle filter to make the lights appear as though they are being sprayed onto the wall, creating the blinking and glowing LED map over time.
Working with the LED Filter in Final Cut Pro Part 3
So now that we have in place our wall of blinking lights as the backdrop, we'll add the show opener text.
Motion Tracking Parameters in Final Cut Pro
Continuum Complete 3.0.2 introduced significant improvements to the integrated Motion Tracker. This tutorial uses the Witness Protection filter in Final Cut Pro to obscure an ad on a trolley. The clip was provided courtesy of www.ArtBeats.com. However, you can use any clip that you like for this tutorial.
Applying BCC Effects as Transitions in Final Cut Pro
Boris Continuum Complete filters can be used as transitions in Apple Final Cut Pro. Some effects such as the Wipe Transitions auto-animate from the outgoing to the incoming shot. For the remaining filters, you need to keyframe the transitions manually as described in this tutorial.
Creating Precise Keys in Continuum Complete
Continuum Complete includes native filters to create precise keys. This tutorial combines multiple filters to solve some complex (but common) keying issues. Although the tutorial uses four filters, BCC Chroma Key, BCC Matte Choker, BCC Color Balance and BCC Light Wrap, you can quickly create accurate keys. This is true even with difficult-to-key DV footage.
