Use After Effects Masks As Custom Splines For Text Extrusions
3D Objects is a new feature of BCC 6. It's built around a concept of using vector text or splines to generate real 3D objects right in After Effects composition by the means of extrusion or creating thickness for otherwise flat layer or shape. Such extrusion would typically require a shape of it's own, unless you really want it to be straight with sharp angles.
Rays Cartoon in Adobe After Effects
Use BCC Rays Cartoon in Adobe After Effects to generate a volumetric lighting effect on an animated text element. The BCC Rays Carton filter will also give the text the appearance of being made of neon lights.
The BCC Glitter filter is OpenGL hardware-accellerated and can be used to generate glittering sparkles of pretty much any size. There are parameters in the filter UI to control the brightness, scale and color of the glitters and also the number of rays that each glitter has.
There are several BCC filters that were designed to produce the glow effect that seems to be popular for sports broadcast and commercial spots. This tutorial we will be using the After Effects version of BCC within Adobe CS3 package. The same BCC Glow filters are available for Avid and FCP with a similar workflow.
Working with the BCC Film Process Filter
The BCC Film Process plug-in can help “filmize” digital video by deepening the color response range of the digital image to emulate film’s dynamic color range. It can also be used to color grade and mimic an variety of analog lens filters (e.g. Cokin, Tiffen, Hoya), optical processes, and special effects.
Working with the BCC Deinterlace Filter
The problem with interlaced images shown on a non-NTSC display is there can be errors when the two fields are synthesized into one frame. These errors are usually referred to as "the jaggies", “combing” or “teeth”, and are apparent in the moving parts of the image.

BCC Match Grain takes a snapshot of film-to-video ("telecined") media and generates a grain signature which can be used as a matching grain sample for a destination clip containing little or no grain.
Creating Precise Keys in Continuum Complete
Continuum Complete includes native filters to create precise keys. This tutorial combines multiple filters to solve some complex (but common) keying issues. Although the tutorial uses four filters, BCC Chroma Key, BCC Matte Choker, BCC Color Balance and BCC Light Wrap, you can quickly create accurate keys. This is true even with difficult-to-key DV footage.
