One of the more interesting text animation techniques is a paint-on effect where brush strokes reveal a title on the screen. To create this effect I chose Boris RED 4.2 for its comprehensive paint features.
If your client is asking for a 3D extruded logo animation in his video and all he has for company graphics is his business card you better dig deep into your toolbox. And you better find a copy of Boris RED in it because that is what you’ll need to get this tough job done.
How does the chroma key work? The foreground object has to be separately filmed in front of an evenly colored and lit backing. The footage is brought in the compositing or editing system to be combined with the new background video or still.

The "Animating EPS Files in Boris RED tutorial detailed animating an Adobe Illustrator EPS file using Red's vector animation tools. It was clearly something that a lot of users wanted to know, as the response was overwhelming. A number of questions came up more than once, so lets address them. 
Graffiti and RED's Generator tab lets you generate random text or numbers. You can lock each letter or number in position regardless of changes made to neighboring characters... 
Native vector text, a library of spline primitive shapes, powerful control over border and fill, and true vector masks are just a very few of the elements that make Red the most extensive vector animation application ever offered.
Boris RED's vector paint is very fast and easy to use, even though it offers a wide variety of features not found in other vector paint tools. These include fill, multiple strokes, and a much wider range of animatable parameters, such as color, brush size and opacity.

Boris Red lets you build elegant 3D animations without becoming a 3D expert. When you have one interface for every effects task, right in the middle of your workflow, that's when this whole convergence thing starts to be any fun at all. 
The Motion Stabilizer filter let's you stabilize shaky video. Motion trackers analyze one or more specified regions of motion then adjust the track's position to compensate. Playback appears smooth because the track moves incrementally to offset the unwanted motion. You can also stabilize just a portion of a track to correct isolated camera bumps.
Recent tutorials looked at how to using Boris FX filters to create uniquely artistic visual effects, such as charcoal and watercolor. This time, let's combine the two, using some of the filters in Boris FX to create create organic wipe transitions.

This tutorial introduces the Corner Pin filter in BCC AVX. Several of the Corner Pin Tracker's powerful features are combined with other BCC AVX filters to create a realistic composite. This compositing primer places emphasis on workflow and techniques.
In this tutorial, you will use the BCC Motion Key filter to successfully remove a moving foreground object from a clip. In this particular case, the moving object that you want to remove is the silver car.
Continuum Complete and Continuum Complete AVX include native filters to create precise keys. This tutorial combines multiple filters to solve some complex (but common) keying issues. Although the tutorial uses four filters, BCC Chroma Key, BCC Matte Choker, BCC Color Balance and BCC Light Wrap, you can quickly create accurate keys. This is true even with difficult-to-key DV footage.
The Apply to Title option is one of the most compelling integration features of BCC AVX. Applying an effect to an Avid Title or Matte Key without affecting the background video is as simple as clicking a single button. You can also apply multiple filters to the same title.

In this exercise, we'll use Apple Final Cut Pro to generate an HD format show opener for a news program, such as we might see on the Larry King show, that incorporates a world map in the background, which has been treated with the BCC LED filter to appear as though it was made out of LED (light emitting diode) bulbs.
To continue the effect, we'll take the same map image and add a particle filter to make the lights appear as though they are being sprayed onto the wall, creating the blinking and glowing LED map over time.
So now that we have in place our wall of blinking lights as the backdrop, we'll add the show opener text.
Boris Continuum Complete filters can be used as transitions in Apple Final Cut Pro. Some effects such as the Wipe Transitions auto-animate from the outgoing to the incoming shot. For the remaining filters, you need to keyframe the transitions manually as described in this tutorial.
There are several BCC filters that were designed to produce the glow effect that seems to be so popular for sports broadcast and commercial spots. In this tutorial we will be using the After Effects version of BCC within Adobe CS3 package. The same BCC Glow filters are available for Avid and Final Cut editors with a similar workflow.
The BCC Film Process plug-in can help “filmize” digital video by deepening the color response range of the digital image to emulate film’s dynamic color range. It can also be used to color grade and mimic an variety of analog lens filters (e.g. Cokin, Tiffen, Hoya), optical processes, and special effects. 
The problem with interlaced images shown on a non-NTSC display is there can be errors when the two fields are synthesized into one frame. These errors are usually referred to as "the jaggies", “combing” or “teeth”, and are apparent in the moving parts of the image.
BCC Match Grain takes a snapshot of film-to-video ("telecined") media and generates a grain signature which can be used as a matching grain sample for a destination clip containing little or no grain.
