Boris Blue Public Beta Now Available

Real-time 3D, compositing and motion graphics solution based on the award-winning Boris Red

Boris Blue is a 3D compositing and motion graphics solution based on the award-winning Boris Red plug-in. This standalone application provides unprecedented 3D creativity with real-time performance to accelerate your workflow.

Blue is a powerful and versatile application that integrates advanced 2D and 3D compositing, robust 3D modeling and animation, industry-leading DVE technology, sophisticated titling, motion tracking, vector paint, Adobe Illustrator file animation and extrusion and more, in a single application. Combining a comprehensive toolset with the real-time performance of industry-standard OpenGL cards, Blue significantly increases users creative options. OpenGL is a cross-platform standard that dramatically improves the speed and interactivity of 2D and 3D previews.

Key Features include

Adjust parameters with interactive real-time playback, including streaming video and audio.
Powerful 3D Particles use any shape as a particle while emitters can include multiple particle types. Multiple attractors and repellers provide dynamic particle interaction.
Extrude text, custom splines or imported EPS files with custom bevels and surfaces.
3D Model Import preserves individual geometry groups, texture maps, and bump maps.
Sophisticated Materials include Texture Maps, Bump Maps, and dynamic Reflection Maps with per pixel lighting controls.
Vertex Deformers provide true 3D warping of 3D objects.
Image Processors and Generators include keying, tinting and toning, distortions, and transitions.
Masking, compositing, and motion blur provide precise control and RT performance.

Boris Blue gives users instant gratification as they can view the results of their work immediately. In addition to the real-time capabilities, hundreds of presets, online documentation and a minimal learning curve will streamline effects creation. Although it hasn’t yet shipped, Blue already won a Vidy Award at NAB 2005 in recognition of outstanding achievement in the advancement of the art and science of video technology.

Boris Blue version 1.0 will be demonstrated at NAB 2006 at the Las Vegas Convention Center from April 24-27 in booth SL2596. Boris FX will also showcase other integrated solutions including Red, Final Effects Complete and version 4.1 of Boris Continuum Complete (BCC) at NAB 2006. Blue will also be shown at the Boris FX NAB User Group on Sunday, April 23, at 3:30 pm. This event will take place at the Las Vegas Hilton, 3000 Paradise Rd. in the Ballrooms D-E.

Pricing and Availability
The Boris Blue public beta is now available as a free download at www.BorisFX.com. This Beta version will expire on April 1, 2006. Boris Blue is expected to ship in Q2 of 2005. The initial release will support Windows only. Macintosh support will be added in a future release. Boris Blue will be available through our worldwide reseller channel and direct through BorisFX for $1995 US SRP.
