Boris FX Ships Final Effects Complete 5.0 for FxPlug

New version of Final Effects Complete now available for Apple Final Cut Studio 2 and Final Cut Express 4

Marlborough MA - March 12, 2008 - Boris FX Boris FX, the leading developer of integrated effects technology for video and film, announced that Final Effects Complete 5.0 for FxPlug (FEC 5.0 for FxPlug) is now shipping. This is the second release in the FEC series which also includes FEC 5.0 for AE (shipping since February 2008) and FEC 5.0 for AVX (shipping Q2 2008). FEC 5.0 for FxPlug adds support for the Apple ® Final Cut Studio ® 2 (FCS 2) and Final Cut Express ® 4 running on the latest Apple OS X Leopard ® operating system.

Final Effects Complete for FxPlug is a set of 108 visual effects filters re-designed for Apple's FxPlug plug-in architecture, providing seamless integration with Apple Final Cut Pro and Motion. FEC 5 FxPlug adds new support for 16 bit-color processing and takes full advantage of FxPlug for a big performance boost including unlimited RT filters and native Final Cut Pro transitions. The same FEC filters are recognized by Motion and run within Motion's accelerated GPU environment for improved compatibility and flexible workflow .

• Host Support: Apple Final Cut Studio including the Apple video applications Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and Motion
• Multi-processor acceleration increases effects production
• Boris Motion Tracker and Pixel Chooser borrowed from BCC allow users to selectively apply filters to specific areas of the image. The method is superior to layer duplication and masking because it is more flexible and efficient.
• New FEC Native Parameter UI sports new control groups, contextual controls, on-screen widgets, custom controls and many other improvements. All parameter options are now readily available as native parameters without a need to open modal dialog windows.
• Load and Save Presets allow users to carry and use their favorite effects with other Boris applications in other supported hosts on Windows or Macintosh.
• The built-in Electronic Help system provides comprehensive information to maximize productivity.

FEC 5.0 for FxPlug is available today through Boris FX worldwide reseller channel and direct through Boris FX web site at www.borisfx.com for an MSRP of $895.00 (new) , $295.00 (upgrade to FEC 5.0 for FxPlug from any other version) and $295.00 (for cross-grades from BCC).

FEC 5.0 for FxPlug and BCC 5.0 for FxPlug can be purchased as a bundled set for $1095.00 (a saving of $695.00)

FEC 5.0 for AVX packages will be available later in Q2 2008.
