Boris FX Announces BLUE 2.5 for Windows Vista

New Release Supports Windows Vista 32 & 64, New Pricing Announced

Marlborough MA - August 6th, 2008 - Boris FX, the leading developer of integrated effects technology for video and film, today announced that Boris Blue 2.5.1 is now available with support for Windows Vista and new NVIDIA & ATI drivers that are qualified by Avid & Adobe.

Users upgrading to BORIS BLIE 2.5 from Avid FX or Boris RED receive:

• Much more speed for previewing effects and rendering effects. Boris Blue uses NVIDIA and ATI graphics cards for accelerated GPU rendering and preview. If users regularly create animated 3D titles in Boris Graffiti, Boris RED, or Avid FX, then upgrading to Blue will ensure fast effects setup and rendering.
• Much more sophisticated 3D looks because it has more advanced 3D lighting, more advanced materials for 3D surfaces, true 3D shape deformers for all shapes, and custom bevels and extrusion faces.
• Fast, powerful 3D Particle Emitters for realistic simulation of smoke, fire, and sparks.
• The ability to import 3D model files such as .3ds (3ds Max) and .obj (Maya) geometry files, preserving individual geometry groups and maintaining editable texture and bump maps. This gives users the ability to access to an infinite number of new 3D shapes for their Boris Blue 3D effects.
• Advanced 3D Camera features, including the ability to animate a camera along a bezier path. Have a camera stay focused on a specific 3D point or track another 3D object as its target while moving through 3D space.
• Better interface tools for composing 3D effects. The Boris Blue Composite Window offers split views for simultaneously viewing and adjusting a 3D scene from multiple perspectives. Blue also provides improved 3D interactors for better manipulating objects in 3D space.

BORIS BLUE is available as a plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, Adobe After Effects CS3, and Avid editing and finishing systems on Windows. Blue may also be used as a standalone application.  BORIS BLUE 2.5.1 is a free update for Blue 2.x users.
