Boris Continuum Complete 6 AVX for Avid DS brings nearly 200 filters to Avid DS Version 10.2.1 and higher. BCC AVX is bundled with all Avid Media Composer and Symphony systems. With a BCC AVX for DS license, Avid facilities are now able to conform sequences with AVX 2.0-based BCC effects for finishing in Avid DS.

In this video tutorial, we show you the basics of using Boris Continuum Complete's Extruded Text filter in Avid Media Composer 4. BCC Extruded Text belongs to the 3D Objects category of filters, which is new to BCC 6. These stunning OpenGL-based filters use vertex and pixel shaders that enable the generation of animated 3D shatter, bulge, bend, taper, twist, ripple, and wave effects. You can also create reflection or texture maps for the generated 3D text from any image or video clip on the Avid timeline. The results speak for themselves; you've probably seen BCC Extruded text in TV shows, commercials, and even feature films...

The BCC Optical Stabilizer filter enables you to stabilize shaky video footage. The filter uses optical flow technology to determine the movement of the camera and then adjusts the clip's position to compensate. Depending upon filter parameter settings, the motion in the clip will either be smoothed or completely locked down. Unlike many other image stabilization tools, the BCC Optical Stabilizer does not require you to set user-defined tracking points. This is useful for images where tracking data is unreliable.
Because the very nature of post camera image stabilization causes the image to be cropped, BCC Optical Stabilizer includes post image stabilization options to fill the blank areas around the frame - such as repeating pixels along the cropped edges, mirroring the image along those edges, filling them with solid color, or leaving them transparent. An auto-scale function automatically transform scales the image so that it fills the frame across time; it includes seven transform scale algorithms ensuring optimal post image sharpness.
